Before returning to Maine to become GM of MYC, Brian managed several of the most sophisticated single-handed offshore racing boats in the world. He participated in four around-the-world races, two trans-oceanic speed records and several trans-Atlantic races. These boats carry the most advanced mast, rigging, ballast systems, mechanical systems, electronics, and composite structures in the marine industry.
Previously, Brian owned and operated Rumery Boat Yard in Biddeford for 9 years. RBY built custom boats as well as maintained and stored a fleet of both power and sail boats.

Julie Farris
Office Manager

Julie grew up around boats and the water. She graduated from American University with a degree in Business Administration. Julie is our customers’ primary contact for information relating to either the boat yard or marina. Julie is also able to answer regarding scheduling or billing. She is aware of every project happening in the yard and is an essential coordinator between them. Don’t hesitate to call or email Julie with any comments or questions you might have!

Jeff Stack
Service Manager

Jeff Stack, our Service Manager, is the primary resource for customers in need of vessel maintenance and repairs. He holds a 100-ton USCG license and is ABYC certified. Jeff recently spent 2 years in Hawaii constructing a 46’ charter schooner, implementing all of his myriad skills. Whatever our customers' needs, Jeff will combine his knowledge and experience with constant customer interaction to deliver high quality repair work of excellent value for any vessel.

Karen Hamilton
Purchasing Agent

Karen’s role as Purchasing Agent at Maine Yacht Center assures that all the technicians have the materials they need, when they need it, to keep the service work running smoothly. Karen has over 25 years experience, including rigging and dockmaster work at Robinhood Marine, yacht deliveries, and management training at West Marine. She graduated from Bates College with a degree in English Literature.

Will Rooks
Shop Foreman

Will Rooks is our shop foreman. Will brings years of highly skilled, technical, composite boat building, repair and maintenance experience to MYC. Before coming to MYC, Will worked for Goetz Custom Boats, as well as several other boat building companies, including his own. Will uses his experience to make sure that each project is given an accurate estimate and that all repairs are well thought out and executed. Will is also an accomplished sailor and owns his own race boat.

Neil Collins
Head Systems Technician

Neil combines a strong background and training in mechanical and electrical systems with the hands-on knowledge of an experienced boat-owner and blue water cruiser. This blue water experience allows Neil to better understand the owners' specific requirements. His careful attention to detail, knowledge and efficiency help assure proven, reliable and user-friendly onboard systems.

Flemming Overgaard
Head Carpenter

Flemming is our head carpenter and is a graduate of the Landing Boat School. Before coming to MYC, Flemming worked for Brooklin Boat Yard as well as other wooden boat builders. Flemming’s experience in both traditional boat building methods, general boat carpentry and laminated wood-epoxy construction techniques will ensure that the finest construction methods and detail go into every project.
